一、ABS residual- Inspection method

Purpose: In order to check if dishes or food boxes are clean, and any residual or deposit of detergent leaves on them.

Reagent, devices:：

‧methyl alcohol
‧acetone
‧1% azure A reagent
‧10% hydrochloric acid
‧Chloroform
‧Droppers or test tubes
‧PH litmus paper

Inspection procedure：

1.	Droppers or test tubes need to be washed with methyl alcohol and propyl alcohol before use.

2.	Add 5ml water in the test object.

3.	Pour the test liquid into the dropper.

4.	Add 1 drop of 1% azure A.

5.	Add 10% hydrochloric acid, dilute the liquid to PH.3.

6.	Add chloroform as much as test liquid, and mix them up completely.

7.	If chloroform turns blue, it means ABS residual remains on the surface of the test object.

Suggestion:

1. The dishes need to be soaked in advance, and rinsed with spray water for 5 seconds at least. Then clean the dishes with detergents.

2. Do not wash fruits or utensils with washing powder.

二、 Adipose - residual - Inspection method

Purpose:In order to check if dishes or food boxes are clean, and any adipose residual or deposits leaves on them.

Reagent：

‧sudan IV or sudan III

‧methyl alcohol

‧sudan reagent

Dissolve 0.1g sudan IV or sudan III in 100ml alcohol as reagent.

Inspection procedure：

1.	Drop reagent on a clean plate for inspection.

2.	Shake the plate slowly until reagent spreads to everywhere.

3.	Smoothly rinse the plate with water.

4.	The color will turn red if adipose residual remains.

Note: The result of inspection depends on red spots. If the plastic plate for inspection is red, and

cannot be cleaned with water, methyl alcohol can remove the spots.

Suggestion:

1.Improve rinse methods and had better wash dishes with 3-tank methods if adipose residual

remains.

2.If dishwashing equipments are not available, please use disposal utensils and paper cups.

三、Amylo-residual - Inspection method

Purpose: In order to check if dishes or food boxes are clean, and any amylum residual or deposits leaves on them.

Reagent：Iodine liquid

Dissolve 20g Potassium Iodine in 100ml water, later add 12.7g iodine in it. After completely dissolving, take 1ml from the dissolving water, and dilute it with 1000ml water once again as iodine reagent liquid.

Inspection method / procedure：

Reagent

2.	Drop iodine reagent on a clean plate for inspection

3.	Shake the plate slowly until reagent spreads to everywhere.

4.	The color will turn blue if amylum residual remains.

Suggestion:

1.Improve rinse methods and had better wash dishes with 3-tank methods if amylum residual remains.

2.Use disposable chopsticks.
